Ive been into cing and winter ski cing for twenty-plus years and wanted to build the perfect overlander for all seasons. I bought the truck in Fall 2018 from a guy who drove it from Colorado Springs to Aurora. He was the second owner and maintained the truck mechanically. I did all the shop work with Colorado Performance Specialist in early 2019. Then, I looked for close to a year for the cereither a Hallmark or an Outfitter. Luckily, I found a consignment Apex LB at the Outfitter manufacturer in Longmont. The great thing about this cer is that it doesnt stick off the back of an eight-foot truck bed, eliminating the need for a hitch extension. You can use the factory receiver hitch for a bike rack and get into the cer. The cer is true four seasons. I have enjoyed many sub-zero nights and hot days with the wall -insulation, forced-air furnace, and air conditioner. Boondocking is never an issue with the solar panel, keeping the AGM batteries charged. If I got in a pinch or wanted to run the air conditioner, I would fire up the packable and portable generator. This overlander will handle the desert and the mountains and enjoy both. I am parting with Brutus because I can now work remotely, so Im building Fred, which will allow me to stay out longer and be more comfortable--more skiing for me.
