Rosalind Nordlis early schooling was in new York City. Her family then moved to California where she attended the Santa Barbara School for Girls, and the Santa Barbara School of Fine Arts. Married in the 1930s to Disney illustrator Ernest Nordli, the couple had two sons. Rosalind was a noted landscape painter and had many local gallery shows in Picadilly Square, Los Olivos, Lake Arrowhead, Gallery 113, Gallery Art Brut, The Faulkner Gallery, Goleta Community Center, and her own studio in Mission Canyon. She won many awards for her water colors and oil paintings, as well as jewelry and sculpture. She was featured on the Emmy award-winning video Impressions in Time A Story of Santa Barbara, produced for educational television. Nordli is related to American sculptors William Couper 1853-1942 and Thomas Ball 1819-1911.
