When he went full time into kayak stuff he also owned Central PA Kayak school he formalized the existance of New Wave. For most of its existance it was located on Roundtop Rd, just outside of Middletown. The business went under in the 90s and John went into the business of making rotomolding ovens for a while. His brother, Paul, still makes kayaks many of them extremely similar to Johns designs, hint, hint. They made the Scalpel, Jet, Projet, Bigfoot, Screaming Meanie, etc. They transitioned into plastic boats with the Cruise Control and the Sleek and 1 or 2 others. They made one fairly contemporary competitive for the era playboat called the Strobe.
