Description

F.V. WOODY is a 54-foot wood seiner built by WAHL in 1969 in Canada, where she worked as a drum seiner. We immediately removed the reel stern r converted the vessel to Kodiak-style salmon seining. Width is 15.7 feet she draws 7 feet.ADFG76527Documentation AK8524ALOfficial AKZ8524AE111The CAT 3306 was rebuilt right before we purchased the boat about 2010, the boat was primarily used only for the Kodiak salmon season about 3 months per year until we stopped seining about 2017. Then we held a tender contract with Trident in Sand Point for their setnetters, making good use of the 50,000 hold capacity. The PacWest RSW system is virtually brand new, having been installed approximately 2018, has been used very little during the subsequent tender charters as we often used slush ice instead. The chiller tubes are situated on the flying bridge the generator is located aft of the cabin on the port side of the deck.We put a anchor winch by JK Fabrication in Seattle on the bow have beefed up the anchor flukes several times, so we rarely have to do anchor drills.New hydraulic lines were installed on deck when we first got the vessel the hydros still run strong there are a couple fittingshoses that should be replaced in the near future. The hydros also power the Bow Thruster, a fairly rare feature for a wood boat, which makes dockingmaneuvering a breezeThe boom includes a Slider, the Power Block was sold a couple years ago. The FV WOODY would be a perfect platform for Dungeness fishing or Sea Cucumber harvesting, or as a Deer Hunting Liveaboard as it has a total of 7 bunks or a Fishing Charter vessel.Fresh water is contained in 2 stainless steel tanks in the lazarette, for a total capacity of 400 gallons Copper coils in the Dickinson diesel stove in the galley rise to the 20-gallon hot water tank in the wheelhouse. In the engine room are 2 diesel fuel tanks with a total capacity of 1200 gallons. A 5KW Northern Lights generator sits forward of the CAT, 4 Marine D batteries dedicated to the 32-volt starting system are secured on shelves on the starboard side are linked to a 2800 watt inverter. An additional Marine D battery, situated on the port side, is solely for the 12-volt system for the marine head, etc..Hydraulic oil tank has a 75-gallon capacity it is located on the starboard bulkhead in the engine room.Forward of the engine room is the forepeakcrew quarters with bunks for four plus some storage space. Also located here is a closet that contains the inverter that switches from shore power to generator when running at sea. This inverter was just completely rebuilt last summer. The galley has a brand new 120 volt Hisense refrigerator, a stainless steel double sink, plenty of cupboards sea-stores under the benches, a triangular galley table epoxied with Kodiak-area nautical charts a Dickinson diesel stove. Continuing forward from the galley, on the starboard side, is the marine head with brand new Jabsco pumpmacerator a small handwashing sink, plus plumbing for showering. On the port side is a stateroom with 2 bunks, small closet several drawers. Further forward is the original wheelhouse which has had the windows reinforced fiberglassed over, is now used as a tool room storage.Up the ships ladder is the aluminum wheelhouse which includes a bunk for the captain, cupboards bench for storage, all of the controlsequipment as follows2 VHF Radios1 TRAC PhoneStandard Horizon Loud HailerFuruno 1715 24-mile RadarGPS Plotter Map 441Toshiba laptop wCoastal Navigation softwareComNav 2001 AutopilotComNav 211 Remote ControlCom Nav Rudder Angle IndicatorWatch Alarm wlight soundDirigo 5 compassRSW Display PanelAft of the wheelhouse is a large flying bridge. A brand new 5 cubic foot freezer is located on the starboard side of the flying bridge, the refrigeration unit is situated in a large wood box in the aft-center. Commercial-sized cooler diesel day-tank occupy a portion of the port side of bridge. There are four survival suits on-board, the Guardian life raft EPIRB are up-to-date.The FV WOODY has seen us through some of the most nautical weather that Alaskan waters can dish out on a couple occasions we literally feared for our lives she saw us through The Sissy Poles Stabilizers Fish mitigate the rolliness that a hull like hers is known for, what with her deep belly dovetail stern. We typically cruise at 7-8 knots, but shes perfectly comfortable steaming along at 12 knots, is incredibly fuel efficientThe ONLY thing this incredible workhorse needs is recaulking we were never able to undertake that task as there are no shipwrights in this area. In speaking to Pete Stein, a shipwright in Port Townsend, we were informed that the project could be tackled in two parts above the waterline one year the first priority below waterline another year only one leak that needs attention, under the chafing gear on the stern. The last survey was conducted in 2019 the vessel was valued at $325,000. We are NOW asking ONLY $60,000 as we are retiring outside the U.S. in the Very Near Future would like to see the ol girl in the hands of someone wholl love her as much as we have
