Description

If youre a sculler and youve been looking to step up your rowing game a bit, this boat might be for you. It is a skinny flat-water 26 fiberglass single shell from the 1970s. This boat will teach you more about rowing than your last few coaches. Maker unknown but similar to Pococks of that period. The overall profile of the boat is similar to the Maas Flyweight boats now costing about $3,500 used to $6,500 new. Not for a novice, but this boat rows surprisingly stable because of the flatter shape of the hull under the cockpit. It can accommodate a rower up to about 165lbs. Easy to carry and launch. The beam is about 12 inches.Cecily is named after a very popular coach from Lake Washington Rowing Club LWRC in Seattle, where this boat was expertly restored and used as a training single for many years. Just get in and row it or restore it again, your choice. Finding any nice rowing shell under $1,000 is pretty much impossible any more. This is an old boat. Theres corrosion on the metal frame, some spider-webbing and epoxy repairs here and there. But the boat is very solid and doesnt leak. Comes with a good quality Peinert cover that is faded but fits well and is very functional. No oars included. Can come with a Burnham boat car-topping carry rack for $250.
