Description

We have two sets of Bull Horns which we got from a long time friend. She was the daughter of Marv and Barbara Hornback, Original owners builders of the famous Pistol Creek Ranch on the Middle Fork of the Salmon River in the Frank Church Wilderness. Her father, Marvin Hornback, founded the Pistol Creek Ranch in the Frank Church Wilderness in 1957 and for a time these Bull Horns had a place in the main lodge. After Marvin died, his widow Barbara had to sell the ranch and loaned the horns for display in the Pioneer Tent Awning Building in Downtown Boise.Upon her death, her heirs retrieved them. Years later, when unable to keep them when moving, Pat offered them to us knowing that we would sell them back to her if she was ever able to display them ... or that we would honor them and try to find them a home where they would be recognized and treasured for the Historical Idaho treasures that they are. One of our photos shows Pat and her sister on horseback at Pistol Creek Ranch in the 60s.We displayed them in our office but are now retired and have no place for them. Our friend, Pat, has passed away and so we are looking to sell them to an Idaho Back Country fan who will be able to give them a great place to live. The Longhorn horns are among the largest to be found just over 9 ft wide... with fine leatherwork. The smaller ones are about 50 inches wide. They are, indeed, an Idaho treasure. We are selling them for what we gave the family.... $2000
