To begin with, its an 8 DCU Max. Max is the designation given by ARE to caps constructed with the upgraded .063 thickness aluminum skin. This aluminum is nearly twice as thick as the standard .035 skin, and the difference is immediately apparent when you feel how solid all the doors are when opened and closed. This is truly unmistakable made in America quality that must be experienced to be appreciated. This cap is further upgraded with the 29 height as opposed to the standard 26. If you need to crawl into your truck bed, that extra 3 of cap height will be greatly appreciated. The rest of the upgrades are easily seen in the pictures. Im attaching a list of those and the current pricing for each, as per a local dealer. Starting with the base price for a 29 DCU Max of $3129., and adding in the options, a total build cost before tax is $5766. Add in tax and freight, this topper brand new costs well north of $6198.29. If you notice in the option list, there is no price for interior skin, although both toolboxes and all doors feature this option.
