Description

Time has come for a bigger boat so I am selling my 20ft proline walk-around. I bought the boat feb 2017 after some extensive research on hulls and engines and a 5 month search. I found this perfect candidate for restoration and the work, and expense haha, began. Bottom was stripped, sanded smooth and 3 layers of interlux barrier coat were applied followed by 3 more of interlux ablative bottom paint. Bilge system needed attention and was completely replaced with a digital sensing 1500gph system and all wiring replaced. Saltwater washout system replaced with a new jabsco unit. New Uniden vhf, cables and antenna installed. Lowrance elite 7ti GPSfish finder with totalscan transducer. Very happy with that unit Replaced the batteries with agm units along with all new cables wiring and dual battery switch. the switches and wiring in the cabin has been repaired or replaced as needed and done correctly. Led lights installed to replace the originals. New bow and stern led nav lights. All the teak work was sanded and revarnished. I installed new stainless pole holders to replace the stock plastic ones and also added a few more. Can never have too many I have new Whiteface Faria speedo and tach that will come with the boat. Other extras as well. So much more done on the hull and is very strong and completely sea worthy. Its proved itself on many occasions as i like to fish the rough water. Engine is a 93 mercury mariner 2.5L 200hp. The small block Chevy of marine engines and has proven to be just as reliable and easy to work on. Yes Ive done a lot of work to it. Compression is great as it was when I got it but many of the systems needed attention as an older engine will. Ran great when I bought it but was a bit high on temp. Pulled the block covers expecting to see some salt buildup and it was very clean to my surprise along with the cylinder walls. New gaskets and the covers torqued back on along with new thermostats, poppet valve replaced just to make sure. New impeller and problem solved. Just replaced the impeller and serviced the lower unit again last week. Out on the water one day it ran a little funny. Tested back at the house and weak spark in one cyl. Bad ign box. Replaced both units with new cdi igniton boxes and addressed some of the wiring i wasnt crazy about. Second season out I noticed a little oil in the air intake box. I knew from my dirt bike years that meant a reed problem. Pulled the carbs and intake and found some bent reeds. Common on an older motor. Cages were re-squared,leveled and new tci carbon fiber reeds installed. A bit overkill for a non race motor but im a big fan of overkill. Haha. I rebuilt the carbs while they were off. Also put in a new fuel pump and replaced all the old fuel lines and hoses. Oil injection system works great, merc systems arent known for problems. I always use amsoil synthetic. Tilttrim pump had a small leak and was replaced with a brand new unit as thats a job I didnt want to do more than once Haha. New trim sender installed at the time as well. When the time came for a new prop I went with a turning point 4 blade. Remarkably changed the boat for the better. Cruises at 32 with a top speed of 40 according to the GPS. Very smooth ride for a boat this size. Motor runs like a ch and im very confident it will for a very long time. Trailer is a sealion with rollers. Very good condition and is rated for 7000lbs. I know im leaving much out but im sure you will be impressed when you see it in person. I have many more pics documenting all the work done along with the paperwork to prove it. Only reason for sale is I have access to an awesome 19ft carolina skiff for the backbays now and its time for a bigger boat for the big water. Boat is in patchouge and ill be happy to demo. Please dont make online offers. Anyall possible negotiations to be done in person only. Thank you.
